"I will cycle the route of the first stage of the Tour de France on 1 July, a total of 120 miles, with silky-smooth clean-shaven legs but only if 40 people will sponsor me £10, with the funds raised to be donated to the Herne Hill Velodrome Supporters Fund."

More details
The ride is the British Cyclosportive, a 5000-strong bike ride held on the same course as Stage 1 of the Tour de France, which starts a week later. The Tour begins with a prologue (short time trial) in London on 7 July followed by the first proper stage, from London to Canterbury, on 8 July.
Built in 1892 and in almost constant use since, Herne Hill is London’s only velodrome, and the only sports facility still in use from the 1948 London Olympics. It is run by a small group of dedicated volunteers, who give up their time to train the capital’s young people to cycle, both on the track and on mountain bikes.
Many stars of cycling have begun their training at Herne Hill, including Olympic track cycling champion Bradley Wiggins, one of the favourites to win the prologue of the Tour de France this year. And the track is not just for racing - the grounds of the velodrome provide a safe environment for kids to learn how to ride bikes safely, away from the traffic but close to their homes.
Despite the success of many of its riders, which include national and international champions, the track is desperately short of facilities and funds. Every penny that is donated will make a huge difference to those using the track now and in the future.
Click on the link below to donate via Paypal. I have set up an account there specifically for this pledge and all the funds will be transferred to Herne Hill at the end of July. Obviously you can donate amounts other than £10.
If you want to donate by other means (eg a cheque, cash),
or want to know more about how the money will be used, or want photographic evidence of the legs, email me on tfreke AT hotmail.com

Also, if anyone wants to come down and ride the track, they are more than welcome. Simply turn up on a Saturday morning at 9am for an induction session - everyone's very welcoming and its a real experience, whether or not you want to go fast.

I do really - it's Oli here!
Why on earth wouldn't I want my name publically associated with a leg-shaving younger brother?!
