More details
Two months ago, I discovered a great resource for planning foreign travel -- a web site called www.SlowTrav.com, where I found about 400 detailed 'trip reports'.
The reports contained specific information on hotels people stayed in, restaurants where they ate, and how they got around and what they saw. Using the information, I had a great trip to the Dolomites in northern Italy, a place where there are few big hotels.
I'd like to encourage the service (of course I have no association with it), so I'm willing to write a report of my trip. But I'd like you to do the same. If 25 of us do it, we'll make a significant improvement to this resource.
When you look around the trip reports at
http://www.slowtrav.com/tr/default.asp
you'll see why this makes sense.
But in case that doesn't convince you, they also have a contest in which small hotels have donated stays as prizes.

Finally, just to repeat: I don't know whether this is a for-profit business, but I have no interest of any kind, except as a user, in whether it succeeds.
