The aim of organising a London Inventors Meetup is to give people interested in inventing and innovation a chance to meet in a social setting at a very centrally located venue in London so as many people as possible have the opportunity to attend.

The idea is that there will be inventors there on the night who have already been through the process of patents, prototyping, and getting an idea from concept to market.

However to continue the meetup we need a reasonable number of people to make the effort and attend the meeting.

• I've been aware of a 'gap in the market' for something like this for many years, now. The Net now makes progress in this area more possible, but we must still watch out for the danger of excluding the poor innovator on the grounds of money, especially that needed to get going. => Perhaps some sort of inventors' co-op is ultimately in order?

  It`s great to see people responding to the idea of an inventors meetup, we`ve done the event in the past but to make it truely worthwhile we need a reasonable number of people to turn up each time. The date we`ve picked is the same day as the British Library`s Free patent search clinic - so people attending that are able to move across and join us after their course finishes.
  
  This is also the first date after the British Inventors Show - so hopefully we can get people to come from the show as well.

  My worry about coming up to London to attend your event is whether it will actually help, and in some way cater for the need which we have all indicated. Why don't you join my Yahoo! group 'innov' (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/innov/) so we can discuss things by email (first)?
